JKSSB Class-IV & Sanitation Worker Eligibility 2026

Domicile

Candidates applying for the advertised posts must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

A valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format must be available on or before the cut-off date, which is 03 November 2026, unless the closing date is extended.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification differs for Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts.

JKSSB Class-IV Salary 2026

The pay scale mentioned in Annexure-D for the Class-IV (MTS)/Sanitation Worker posts is:

Pay Level: SL-1 — ₹14,800 to ₹47,100

What Does Merit-Cum-Preference Mean?

The notification states that the overall merit will be determined on the basis of the written examination marks along with applicable additional points under the relevant rules.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 for In-Service Candidates

An in-service candidate must submit the printout of the filled online application form along with the duly filled, signed and stamped certificate given at the end of the application form through the proper channel, i.e. the concerned Head of Department/Designated Authority.

The concerned Head of Department will forward the application to the Secretary, J&K Services Selection Board, by the prescribed stage. In-service candidates are also required to indicate their status while submitting the online application.

JKSSB PwBD Scribe and Compensatory Time Facility

Eligible Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) who have a valid disability certificate may avail the facility of a scribe and/or 20 minutes compensatory time per hour of examination, subject to the conditions specified in the notification.

Candidates opting for the facility have to submit the prescribed disability-related certificate and undertaking. The candidate is required to arrange his/her own scribe, and the scribe must satisfy the qualification and other conditions specified by JKSSB.
